If the Far Right were really bothered about women’s and girls’ safety there would be a protest every time a white man is accused. There are no such protests.

In recent weeks, protests have erupted outside asylum seeker hotels. Back in July, an asylum seeker in Epping was charged with a series of sexual offences against a teenage girl. He denied the charges and he has been remanded in custody until the trial.
But the far-right has used this incident as an excuse to tyrannise all asylum seekers, with protests breaking out in Falkirk, London, Merseyside, the Midlands, and the south coast.
Since 2020, far-right groups have been making the locations of asylum hotels public and activists have held occasional protests outside them. Meanwhile, Reform has made it a campaign point, with Nigel Farage voicing support for the protests.
This is despite the vast majority of asylum seekers not being housed in hotels.
The New York Times reported that an asylum seeker in Manchester had been charged with sexual assault and will next appear in court in September. However, Greater Manchester Police said that “no reports of rape or sexual assault have been made against any residents of this hotel, past or present.”
Faux moral outrage
How many white men have been arrested, charged, or even convicted of violent offences against women or children in the last month?
It’s hard to get an exact figure. However, in the last week alone:
A man in Wakefield was sent down for 20 years for a string of offences against two young girls.
Another white man, in Skegness, was sentenced for two years and six months for offences against children.
A white British man in Rotherham was found guilty of raping a schoolgirl and will appear for sentencing on August 21.
It took me five minutes to find these three cases, which were the top results on Google.
Where is the outrage from the far-right? Where are the protests outside the courts, or their houses? All it would take is one quick Google search from any far-right protester to see that the people being convicted most frequently for sexual offences are white British men.
Where’s the social media posts promising to protect our women and girls? They don’t exist — because this is not and never was about protecting women and girls.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) holds limited data on sexual offence prosecutions by self-declared ethnicity.
In 2023 in the UK, 1,431 white people were convicted of sexual offences that included a rape charge. In comparison, only 457 non-white people were convicted of the same crimes.
An additional 767 people’s ethnicities were either not provided or not stated.
This means that there were nearly three times as many white people convicted of ‘rape-flagged offences’ than there were non-white people in 2023.
For sexual offences, excluding ‘rape-flagged prosecutions’, the numbers are even starker.
In the same year, 6,549 white people were prosecuted, compared to only 1,345 non-white people. Again, some were not provided or stated — this time 2,230.
This means that nearly five times as many white people were convicted of sexual offences, excluding rape, in 2023 than were non-white people.
More recent figures have not been published yet, but one TikToker created a video showing the explicit media bias in the UK when it comes to reporting on sexual offences.
The amount of airtime and media coverage that the non-white men got, compared to all of the white men put together, was absurd.
Is there any wonder the right-wing are up in arms about asylum seekers committing sexual offences, when there is such an imbalance in how our media reports on them, depending on the colour of the perpetrator’s skin?
What is clearer than ever is that if the far-right were really interested in protecting women and girls, there would be protests every time there was even an accusation against a white man.
Instead, they are using ‘protecting our kids’ to hide their real motives. Their true motives can only be racism and xenophobia.
